The crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, popularly known as BitBoy Crypto, is back in the public eye after an eight-hour stint in jail.

His mugshot has since gone viral on social media.

The Arrest and Charges

Earlier, Armstrong was taken into custody by law enforcement on charges of "loitering/prowling" and "simple assault by placing another in fear," with bail set at $2,600.

Armstrong, who was recently removed from his own company, was en route to confront a former associate when he was apprehended by the police. The entire incident was broadcast live on YouTube.

Back on Social Media

After his release, Armstrong took to X (previously known as Twitter), to share updates about his legal troubles and ongoing feud with a former colleague at HitNetwork—a company he is currently suing. Armstrong stated that he was attempting to reclaim his Lamborghini from TJ Shedd, alleging that it was taken from him under duress.

Armstrong's Statement

Upon his release, Armstrong posted,

"My name is Ben and I'm a loiterer. I did 8 whole hours in the slammer."

He also clarified that he was not under the influence of any substances at the time of his arrest but was fueled by the adrenaline of confronting his "bully."

Public Reaction

The crypto community had a mixed but largely humorous response to Armstrong's arrest. CryptoCharles tweeted,

"Took in $200k in donations, immediately bought a bag of cocaine, called his mistress, attempted to steal a Lamborghini, live-streamed the entire thing, and got arrested."

Impact on Token Value

The BEN token, backed by Armstrong, has seen a decline of over 20% since the incident.
