Shibu Inu Ecosystem Taking Front & Center Stage
This week ShibaSwap (BONE), the governance token of the ShibaSwap decentralized exchange (DEX) has been the best-performing Top 100 crypto, up 22%.
In second place is Shibu Inu (SHIB) up 18% and third part of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, Doge Killer (LEASH), ranked #325 and priced at $559,09 is up 21% this week.
This is in contrast to the rest of the crypto market which has been moving sideways. This once laughable meme coin has transformed in a few short years into a solid crypto contender now outperforming some of the best cryptocurrencies in the market.
While many people are familiar with Shiba Inu, most are not familiar it's part of a much larger ecosystem including BONE (the governance token of the ShibaSwap DEX and the coin used for paying gas fees on the Shibarium Layer-2 blockchain) and LEASH.
And recently, Shiba has been attempting to increase the price of their token through active token burning.
According to a recent tweet, there have been over 2 billion tokens burned in just the month of July. The burning mechanism was put in place to reduce the supply of SHIB in an attempt to increase the value of SHIB and it seems to be paying off.
I must admit, I have never been a fan of meme coins, but Shiba looks to be providing some solid value and has a massive community backing the project as well as adding value (in a non-traditional way). Nevertheless, it's a project I will be paying more attention to as their ecosystem continues to develop.
However, if a dog-faced meme coin is now the best-performing top 100 cryptocurrency in the world, I'm not sure what that says for the rest of the cryptomarket...heh.

For the second week in a row, Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) makes this list. BONE is a governance token of the ShibaSwap decentralized exchange (DEX). It is an ERC-20 token that is used to facilitate liquidity, staking, and swapping within ShibaSwap.
BONE holders can vote on proposals that affect the future of ShibaSwap, such as new features, tokenomics, and marketing campaigns. They can also earn rewards by staking BONE or providing liquidity to the ShibaSwap DEX.
Shiba Inu (SHIB) + 18.9% - Ranked #14
Shiba Inu (SHIB) is a decentralized meme token that grew into a vibrant ecosystem. SHIB was originally an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain that was created anonymously and named after the Shiba Inu dog breed, also associated with the Dogecoin meme. It's branded as the "Dogecoin Killer" and has been marketed as a more decentralized and community-driven project.
XDC Network (XDC) +12.1% - Ranked #45
For the third week in a row, XDC makes the list. The XinFin Digital Contract (XDC) Network is a hybrid blockchain network focused on enhancing global trade and finance by combining the transparency of public blockchains and the security of private ones.
The native cryptocurrency of this network, XDC, facilitates transactions and incentivizes participants within the ecosystem. XinFin uses a unique consensus mechanism called XinFin Delegated Proof of Stake (XDPoS), designed to create a more democratic, scalable, and environmentally friendly network.
XDC is also one of the few ISO 20022 compliant cryptocurrencies.
Optimism (OP) + 11.9% - Ranked #42
Optimism (OP) is a layer-two blockchain on top of Ethereum. It benefits from the security of the Ethereum mainnet and helps scale the Ethereum ecosystem by using what is referred to as 'optimistic rollups'. These are transactions that are trustlessly recorded on Optimism but ultimately secured on Ethereum.
Optimism is one of the biggest scaling solutions for Ethereum with over $500 million in TVL. It is home to over 97 protocols, the biggest being Synthetix (SNX), a derivatives exchange, Uniswap (UNI), a DEX, and Velodrome (VELO), an AMM (Automated Market Maker). On May 31, 2022, Optimism conducted a highly anticipated airdrop of its OP token.
