Do You Remember This?
In 1988, the cover story for The Economist illustrated a picture of a Phoenix with the title "Get ready for a world currency" and a coin that resembles, the logo for Stellar (XLM), (an ISO 200222 compliant cryptocurrency).
It wasn't until twenty years after this article was published that Bitcoin came into existence and now today, Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and CBDCs are at the forefront of many people's minds.
In just the last month, we have seen a considerable increase in the price of ISO 20022 Cryptos, namely:
- Ripple (XRP): +57% (30d)
- Stellar (XLM): +84% (30d)
- XDC Network (XDC): +21% (7d)
Even though that Economist article was written more than 35 years ago, we are now seeing this new world currency take shape, however today it's now being referred to as The New Quantum Financial System.
The New Quantum Financial System

Oh, and just yesterday first government-created platform for instant cash transfers called FedNow went live...
FedNow: The New Instant Payment System
If you missed it, yesterday was the official launch of the FedNow payment system, for those living in America.
FedNow is the first government-created platform to help transfer money in real-time, similar to what the private sector has created through payment apps like Venmo and Cash App that send funds almost instantly but outside of bank accounts.
While it's not known whether the FedNOW system is based on blockchain technology and even though the government has outright denied it is part of its CBDC initiative, it is one step closer to a cashless society, and the use of programmable money.

Maker (MKR) is a cryptocurrency token associated with the MakerDAO and Maker Protocol, both of which are part of the Ethereum blockchain. These systems support a decentralized platform which includes DAI, a stablecoin whose value is intended to mirror the US dollar. MKR tokens are used within the MakerDAO system for governance among other things.
XDC Network (XDC) +21.1% - Ranked #71

The native cryptocurrency of this network, XDC, facilitates transactions and incentivizes participants within the ecosystem. XinFin uses a unique consensus mechanism called XinFin Delegated Proof of Stake (XDPoS), designed to create a more democratic, scalable, and environmentally friendly network.
Stellar (XLM)+17.7% - Ranked #21
Stellar is a decentralized, open-source platform for transferring digital currency. It operates using the Stellar Consensus Protocol and its native cryptocurrency is known as Stellar Lumens (XLM).
Stellar aims to connect financial institutions and reduce the cost and time required for cross-border transfers. Notably, Stellar allows for the issuance and transfer of tokens representing any fiat currency or commodity, fostering financial inclusion and remittance efficiency.
Stellar is also one of the few ISO 20022 compliant cryptocurrencies.
Chainlink (LINK)+14.7% - Ranked #20
Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that provides real-world data to smart contracts on the blockchain. It helps to bridge the gap between on-chain and off-chain systems, allowing smart contracts to execute based on real-world data such as weather, sports outcomes, or stock prices. This is achieved through a network of oracles that fetch and validate this data. Chainlink uses its own cryptocurrency, LINK, to pay node operators for their services.
Chainlink is considered a significant project in the blockchain industry due to its unique role in enhancing the functionality and use cases of smart contracts.
